Vastu and Jyotish(Space and Time)....... Pt. Dr. Hitesh A. Modha

The ancient  Maharshi  of  Bharat-Varsh (India) spoke of three positions of Vastu Purusha — Nitya, Chara and Sthira. Space personified as Vastu Purusha changes his gaze every three hours in a day and becomes Nitya Vastu Purusha. When his gaze changes during the twelve months of a year to south, west, north and east he becomes Chara Vastu Purusha. When he is lying flat on his stomact with his face down and permanently gazing into the ground with his head to the northeast, legs and lower part of the body to the southwest and his left and right arms to the northwest and southeast respectively, he is reerred to as Sthira Purusha.

Though, the seers never saw life as one of total happiness, they felt that these positions of the Vastu Purusha inter-related with the natal horoscooe, its periods of dasas and bhuktis, transits and planetary aspects (considered with the related directions), the fourth and other houses, remedial measures, etc could indeed revive the Vastu balance and contribute to enhanced comfort and contentment and better health, harmony and happiness.

A study of the fourth house reveals houses, landed and ancestral properties, peace of mind, mother, home life, conveyances and general happiness. When judging the houses, one’s analysis should be intelligent and skilled and not literal.

A study of the fourth house reveals houses, landed and ancestral properties, peace of mind, mother, home life, conveyances and general happiness.
In studying the fourth (and other relevant) house, some of the factors that can be considered carefully are :
  1. Strength, aspects, conjunctions and position of the lord of the fourth house.
  2. Strength of the house itself.
  3. Natural qualities of the house, of its lord and the planets in it or having aspects.
  4. The yogas occurring in a particular house.
  5. The exaltation or debilitation of the house lord.
  6. The age, position, status and sex of the person.
  7. The disposition of planets in a sign and the relationship of the house lord with the Sun.
  8. The directions and the relevant primary elements imbalanced in the horoscope
  9. The appropriate plan or mandala to be used.
A study of dasa-bhukti operating in one’s life and the transits taking place at that particular point of time are also factors to be considered.

When a plan of a house is made out, the length, breadth and height are of primary importance in finding the Ayadi Shadvarga or the six building formulae — aya, vyaya, rksha, yoni, vara and tithi. The significance of astrology is clearly spelt out in the rksha formula. Rksha refers to the nakshatra or constellation of the site or building. The length of the site or building (in hasta measurement) is multiplied by 8 and divided by 27. The remainder obtained indicates the constellation. This should be compatible with the master’s (and his/her spouse’s) nakshatra for general happiness in the family.

Similarly, the importance of the horoscope is obvious when we select the day for laying the foundation, the day for digging the well or bore or creating an underground or overhead tank, day for installation of main door and the day for entering the completed building.

1. Laying the foundation
  1. The lunar months Jyeshta, Ashada, Bhadrapada, Aswiyuja, Margasira, Pushya and Phalguna should be avoided.
  2. Chaitra, Vaisakha, Sravana, Kartika and Magha are recommended.
  3. The Sun should occupy a fixed sign.
  4. The constellations Rohini, Mrigasira, Chitta, Hasta, Jyeshta, Uttara, Uttarashada and Sravana are good.
  5. All odd tithis (lunar days), except navami, are good. Of the even tithis, the 2nd, 6th and 10th are auspicious.
  6. Of the weekdays, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are good.
  7. Fixed signs are best.
2. Digging the well
  1. The constellations Revati, Uttarabhadra, Hasta, Anuradha, Makha, Sravana, Rohini and Pushyami are good.
  2. Recommended rising sign is Pisces, Cancer or Capricorn.
3. Installing the mahadwara or the main door
  1. Rising sign should be a fixed sign.
  2. Rohini, Mrigasira, Uttara, Chitta, Anuradha, Uttarashada, Uttarabhadra and Revati are good.
  3. Recommended weekdays are Wednesday and Friday.
4. Grihapravesam - Entering the completed building
  1. The Sun in Uttarayana, when Venus and Jupiter are strongly disposed is good.
  2. Lunar months Vaishakha, Jyeshta, Magha and Phalguna are the best. Kartika and Margasira are tolerable.
  3. Constellations recommended are Rohini, Mrigasira, Uttarashada, Chitta and Uttarabhadra. Anuradha and Revati are not bad.
  4. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are favorable.
  5. The Ascendant should be a fixed sign
We are told by astrological texts that certain directions are good for certain signs. These can also be considered while fixing the doors.
We first need to understand that both these sciences are inter-dependant. While Astrology speaks of Time and personifies it as Kalapurusha, Vastu speaks of Space and personifies it as Vastu Purusha.
  1. South or East - good for Mesha (Aries), Meena(Pisces) and Kumbha (Aquarius).
  2. South or West - good for Vrishabha (Taurus), Mithuna (Gemini) and Kataka (Cancer).
  3. North or West - good for Simha (Leo) Kanya(Virgo) and Tula(Libra).
  4. North or East - good for Vrischika (Scorpio), Dhanus (Sagittarius) and Makara (Capricorn).
People have often asked me if Vastu modifications or changes can take priority  over astrological indications. Some have wondered why a house built or re-structured as per certain principles have not given them overnight prosperity, health and happiness. Some others have felt that a house that they have carefully planned right from selection of site to the completion of building based on their astrologer’s study of their horoscopes and application of muhurthas at various stages of construction has not given them bliss. We first need to understand that both these sciences are inter-dependant. While Astrology speaks of Time and personifies it as Kalapurusha, Vastu speaks of Space and personifies it as Vastu Purusha.

As a simple illustration, while Astrology can tell you it will rain and cause stress, Vastu can give you an umbrella or a shelter over your head and de-stress you.
Astrology and Vastu both owe their origin to the Vedas or the knowledge books of India. While Astrology can help you plan your future, Vastu can put this plan into practical action. As a simple illustration, while Astrology can tell you it will rain and cause stress, Vastu can give you an umbrella or a shelter over your head and de-stress you. Experience very clearly tells us that Astrology and Vastu are inter-related and inter-dependant and coexist.

If you apply the principles of Vastu in a holistic manner, the horoscopic positives can be optimized while the impact of the depressing indications indicated in your horoscope can be minimized. Vastu when properly applied, under the advice of an expert, can indeed enhance your social and business contacts, create greater harmony in the family, with friends and business associates, and better your physical, mental, spiritual and business health.

The advantage Of integrating Vedic Astrology with Psychology ___Pt.Dr. Hitesh A. Modha

One of the most distinct advantages that the Vedic Astrologer has over the Psychologist is that the former can elucidate both the psychological nature of the individual as well as the timing of significant positive and negative life events.  The Psychologist may comprehend the personality profile and accompanying psychological dilemmas, but he or she is unable to make clear and accurate predictions about when stressful life events are likely to manifest and when they are likely to abate.  The Psychologist tends to rely on past and current behavioral patterns to make his predictions, while the Astrologer can utilize both avenues of behavioral observation as well as chart analysis.   Therefore, Vedic Astrologers have a unique perspective since they can predict when certain life stressors are likely to exacerbate pre-existing emotional or cognitive difficulties related to a given personality style. Moreover, the Astrologer can identify the precise timing of a particular life stressor or event and how that individual is likely to respond to the information that he or she receives from the Astrologer.  Different personality styles will respond and cope differently to the same life challenge or stressor.

For example, the Histrionic personality type (active-dependent) has a particularly strong need to socialize, be recognized by the opposite sex, has a dramatic self-expression, shows intolerance for frustration, delay or disappointment, acts very friendly, superficial and flirtatious and is generally the “life of the party.”  Affection must be replenished constantly from others for this person to feel secure.  This individual takes an active role in being noticed and admired. Yet, this person is also quite dependent on the opinions and evaluations of others for approval.  So, this individual relies to a large extent on external validation and he or she tends to focus his or her attention on appearance.  If this desire is met, then this person functions reasonably well.  However, when this person goes through a difficult Mahadasa period, perhaps a Saturn Dasa with Saturn in a weak chart position, he or she will have a unique struggle that is associated with that personality profile.  In contrast, the Compulsive (passive-ambivalent) type is more serious, conforming to societal rules, and maintains control over his affect and behavior.  The Compulsive type is highly perfectionist, orderly, behaviorally constrained, indecisive and rigid, and prefers to remain more private than the Histrionic type.  The Saturn Dasa experience for this individual will be quite different than for the Histrionic personality.  The Compulsive type may make great strides during the Saturn Dasa and finally feel comfortable and productive under this planetary influence. The Histrionic type may become depressed and have difficulty obtaining the social reinforcements that are so central to this person’s self-image.   In sum, the Vedic Astrologer can serve the client by identifying discrete personality patterns. The Vedic Astrologer can then assist the client by tailoring the astrological interpretation to address that client’s particular emotional, cognitive, physical, behavioral and spiritual orientation as dictated through one’s personality profile.

The interaction of personality style with the operating Dasa/Bhukti cycle may help to explain why certain individuals with particularly “strong” charts still have significant difficulty and discontent in their life experience and conversely why some individuals with “weak” or afflicted charts appear to overcome many of life’s obstacles.  Certain personality styles appear to thrive on discord, while other personality types have very little reserve for coping with challenging circumstances.   This idea deserves to be formally investigated through appropriate research models, incorporating the Million personality theory within the context of Vedic Astrological chart interpretation.

The accurate information conveyed during an astrological consultation is a matter of discernment by the Vedic Astrologer and it is an important issue that is not easily taught.  Therefore, use of this personality framework should assist the Vedic Astrologer in understanding his client along the 6 axes formerly described.  By understanding the personality style of the client, the Vedic Astrologer will also recognize what information can truly be “heard,” as well as the likely impact of the information on that personality type.

I demonstrate how the Vedic Astrologer can utilize the Rasi, Nakshtra and Lagna-kundali, Dreskan (charts) for delineating personality and psychological features using the 6-axis bio-psycho-social model presented earlier.  The main point to consider is that the profound system of Vedic Jyotish clearly offers a method for a deep examination of personality and accompanying psychological features found within any particular astrological chart. More information you can visit

The first house of Janma-Kundali presents the high prediction. By Pt. Dr. Hitesh A Modha

Lagnam: Adya (first); Kalpa. (Totalities of Intellectual)  Udhayam (Ascending); Janma (birth); Shirsha (head): Dhanus (physical body);Anga (limb); Deham (physical features specially face); Vartamanam (living or livelihood & general life phase).

The first house of Vedic astrology or what is commonly known as the ascendant (Lagna) signifies the native, his general appearance, character and temperament. It shows his physical stature, co lour, form and shape and constitution in general. The ascendant is always an important factor in the matter lf the planets throwing the bad aspect. It also indicates the native’s vitality and vigor, his peculiar habit of thinking, his natural disposition and tendencies, the native's personality and struggle for life, his fortune or misfortune, etc. One should examine the 1st, 3rd and 8th houses to ascertain the probable span of one's life also describes the nation in life general can dour (Status), honors, dignity and general well-being. One should guess prom the first house of Vedic astrology whether one has the determination and courage to Hindu sages, shows the natives' residence abroad. Therefore one should examine this house before one predict whether the native will live in his own place or will make fortune is a far-off place. In short, this house this is the signification of any changes in the individual's life. Hence this is of supreme importance. All depend upon the occupant and aspects to Ascendant. The 1st house governs head and the upper part of the face. In Mundane; Ascendant of a country or general state of the locality or the State for which the horoscope id cast. In Horary Astrology, the first house may be said to symbolize the person asking the question.

Bhattothpala says in 'Prasnajnana' that longevity, age, birth, health, happiness, virtues, suffering, one's for and complexion are to be investigated from the first house. Limbs (growth of the limbs), happiness, misery, hair, appropriating other’s money (if Saturn and Mercury are in Ascendant afflicted by Jupiter the individual will not misappropriate) gambling on other’s money or for other skin, sleep (whether the native will be active or sleepy). If Saturn is in lagna especially with malefic Kethu or Rahu, than the native will be lazy; (the wife will have abortive tendencies); if Mars and Mercury are there then he will be ever active. Kalidash adds that tendency to insult other men, freedom from disease, perseverance in the breeding of cattle (lord of 6 in the lagna or connected with the lord of lagna), loss of decorum and blame from one’s caste (formerly profession) are all to be predicted from the first house.

Lagna indicates the advantages gains and profit to younger brother and his friends, the name, fame, reputation and the patrimony of mother are attributed to the lagna higher studies, long journey, life in a hostel during the study, connection with strangers and foreigners for the native's children (especially the first child) is judged from the Ascendant. Danger of maternal uncle, end of open inimical activity is to be read from the first house of Vedic astrology. Demise of partner, wife or husband and the pleasurable pursuits and speculation of father is also included.

Lagna indicates that one’s Intellectualism & its all level and behave pattern also. In Vedic–Jyotish; Lagna (Ascendant) is most key factor of horoscope to predict one’s individuality and generalize.

Lagna (Ascendant) play big role in horoscope. It has 60% part of total horoscope. Once we know that, what our Lagna (Ascendant), we can drive our lives on easy way. If our Lagna (Ascendant) is potent, we can execute anything at anywhere, no needed to consult our horoscope to any astro-consultant.

Short journeys, editing, publishing, neighbors to elder brother are pre-shadowed by Lagna. Thus each house signifies certain matters concerning matters concerning the individual and the same house indicates various matters relating to the relatives of the native. A house of Vedic astrology may be fortunate to the native and at the same time it may be unlucky to a relative. The native may keep good health but visit hospital to attend on an ailing relative and be worried because of the relative.

How to apply Saptamsa Kundali in practising readings____. Pt. Dr Hitesh A Modha.

Saptamsa kundali is mainly for children. In other hand Saptamsa kundali is main tools of study of children and it life and zero sterility & determination of gender. It is very specialization study for that

There are certain simple rules that govern the sex determination of the children.
For a male nativity, the first child is determined by the lord of the 5th house from Saptamsa Lagna, whereas for a female nativity, the first child is determined from the lord of the 9th house from Saptamsa Lagna.
For a male nativity, subsequent children are determined from the lords of every 3rd house from the fifth, in direct order, i.e. the second child 7th house lord third child from 9th house lord and fourth child from 11th house lord and so on whereas, for a female nativity, subsequent children are determined from the lords of every 3rd house from the ninth, in reverse order. i.e. the second child from 7th house lord, third child from 5th lord and fourth child from 3rd lord and so on.
A male child is predicted, if the lord of the child is,
1.) Placed in an odd sign or, Cancer or Pisces OR
2.) Exalted or conjoins exalted planets, or
3.) Conjunct the Sun, Jupiter, Mars or Rahu (considered male planets).
A female child is predicted, if the lord of the child is,
1.) Placed in an even sign, Gemini or Aquarius, OR
2.) Debilitated or conjoins debilitated planets, or
3.) Conjunct the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Ketu (Considered feminine planets) or Saturn (Napumsaka also).
The sign occupied by the 5th, 7th etc Lords should be treated as the Lagna of individual children. Take the lord as the Lagna of specific children and predict fortune as per dasa’s.
Timing the birth of Children
1. Birth, of children takes place during the dasa of planets having Argala on Saptamsa Lagnesh.
2. Individual children are predicted during the antardasa of the lord of the child, its depositor or the lords of the 3rd/8th from the Lagna (as mentioned earlier). In case of a conflict between the indications of the saptamsa of expectant father and mother, the results should be predicted from the male horoscope(This rule has also been proved by genetics wherein it is an established fact that the sex chromosomes are only determined by the male)
3. Generally, a male child is born in six Rasi comprising the kendra/kona from Janma Rasi of saptamsa of father, i.e. the Janma Rasi of the son is the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th from saptamsa Rasi of the father.
4. Generally, a female child is born in the remaining six Rasi i.e. 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, or 12th from the saptamsa moon of the father.
Case 1: Male born on 12 November1934, Cuttack, India
1. 5th Lord in Rasi, Mercury has gained 3 Amsa and is placed with 3 planets. The native has three children.
2. 5th Lord from Saptamsa Lagna, Mercury, is placed alone in Dhanus. The first issue is a son who works in a telecommunication company. Since Mercury is in the 12th from Lagnesh Saturn, he is settled in a foreign country. He was born during Rahu-Merc-Venus in Vrischik Rasi Kendra to Simha-Saptamsa moon.
3. 7th lord sun is exalted in Mesha. The second issue is also a son who is employed in the Govt. He was born in Rahu-Merc-Guru in Kumbha Rasi.
4. 9th Lord Venus is exalted in Pisces, and conjoin Ketu. In spite of Ketu the two other factors predominate and the 3rd issue is also a son involved in the export of prawns(Ketu). He was born during Rahu dasa Ketu antardasa in Simha Rasi.
Case:2nd   Male born 7 May1963, 11 a.m. at 25N5, 85 E25.
1. 3 planets aspect the 5th (Rasi drishti) as the 5th Lord in debility gains 7 Navamsa. The native has 3 issues (2 Surviving)
2. Sun, 5th Lord in Saptamsa, is alone in Virgo showing the 1st issue that was lost few months after conception as the fifth lord going to the sixth house shows early death of child.
3. Venus, 7th lord is in Kumbha and 2nd pregnancy is a daughter.
4. The 9th lord Jupiter is in Sagittarius, but conjoins debilitated Rahu and Mercury. Thus the third issue as foretold is a daughter. [All other astrologers had said boy as the Dasa was of Jupiter, but the results were different.]
5. The native wanted to try for a son again, but was advised against it since the 11th lord Saturn is alone in Capricorn and, this issue too would be a female.
It maybe noted that from the case histories it will be seen that a conjunction dominations placement unless the lord is exalted or debilitated.
It is not final prediction.  One’s horoscope must be necessary to study.
Contd… We will discuss on next episode

The 5th House ….Most favorable House..... ….By Pt Dr Hitesh A. Modha

Children - Education- Love- Self development, -Intellect,
A Dilemma Delineated
This article is not analytic work but, it is one kind of aptitude taste or pathologically scans from one’s horoscope.
Often, on finding a strong 5th house, one faces the dilemma of whether to predict good education or happiness deriving from children or both. We felt a need to hunt for a methodology that could give pointed indications in these areas and immediate clarity from a horoscope. it is my research work.
The conservative view goes that simply on the basis of the prime parameters - the strength of the 5th and the 9th house, their lords and Jupiter, one should not rush to conclusions to affirm all  quality and high-quality or all moderate quality for either children or education. The thoughts that come on initial pondering can get you to the right prediction with so many techniques and dashas now available from discoveries through research. But what is it that differentiates a good education and suffering on account of children from a bad education but bliss from children, we need to establish statistically and scientifically, so that it leads to a methodology that is pinpointed.

The parameters which could best answer this question needed to be explored and tested and hence this research project came into being. As indicated by Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, the 5th house governs amulets, scared spells, learning, knowledge, sons, royalty (or authority), fall of position, etc. For our research, the 5th house interpretations with respect to children and education were broadly classified as:
1) Good education and good children
2) Good education and no happiness from children
3) Good children but poor or average education
4) Poor education and unhappiness from children
5) Self career with personal

Objective:

To empirically test the hypotheses that the listed parameters in a horoscope impact on children and education and to recommend the weightage that should be given to each parameter; with special emphasis on the role of the Saptamsha (D7-children) and the Chaturvimshamsha (D24-education).

Parameters:
1) The 5th house and the 5th lord from the lagna, Moon, and Jupiter as the primary source of influence.

2) Condition of Jupiter as the significator both for children and knowledge, in the natal chart and the divisional charts.

3) The condition of the planet that is putrakaraka (5th karaka) and the fifth house from it, both for children and education.

4) Analysis of the saptamsha for children and the chaturvimshamsha for education.

5) Analysis of the 9th house and the 9th lord both from the lagna and the Moon.

6) Analysis of the 7th house and the 7th lord both from the lagna and the Moon.
7) At least two dashas between the ages of 15 and 25 for education and between 25 and 35 for children: vimshottari and chara dashas.
8) Role of transit.
9) Role of Gulika.
10 Role of Mercury in education.( Always mercury is major role for eduction)

Apart form these parameters, we are analyzing related variable and supplementary factors like the role of the Moon in education, applicability of conditional dashas, role of Beej Sphuta and Kshetra Sphuta, etc. These factors are being analyzed by researchers to develop a full fledged thesis at the individual level, in addition to the group project.

Overview:

Our biological instincts combine with societal beliefs on the continuity of human existence. The urge to procreate is at once a human weakness and a profound human strength. Even an atheist might pray when he is unable to parent a child.

A child promises bliss before his arrival into the parent's fold and becomes the most precious possession soon after he is born. Man confronts balarishta (childhood illness and even death) to save and protect the child. In the modern context, the Balarishta-Yog threat could come from disease, infection or abnormalities affecting the child. Earlier, Ayurved and Vedic Joyitsh are co-syllabus.  Seven out of ten children tended not to survive, and therefore Balarishta-Yog  remained critical to astrological analysis of children.

Today, as a child grows, the concerns continue even though with modern medicine they may be less directed to the survival of the child. Education of the child has today become a critical concern of parents and astrological counseling is increasingly sought for relatively minor matters like the specialization streams to be opted for in schools and colleges.

Parents are also concerned about the behavior of children and their attitude towards elders. The aspirations of a parent for the child tend to be limitless. The problem of hyperactive children with small attention spans becoming indecisive due to peer pressure in choosing specialized streams, are increasingly common, often compelling parents to seek psychiatric help. Some even have to face the gravest misery of all: loss of a child. Clearly, any parent can accept immense suffering to self but the pain multiplies if it is the child who suffers.

Guidance on education is fast becoming crucial not only for children but for all those struggling for growth in career. There are mid career courses and training's which are fast getting more and more popular. So both Children and Education draw immediate attention.

The study of A horoscope of Mark Zuckerberg..... by Pt. Dr Hitesh Modha

The study of a Horoscope of Mark Zuckerberg… by Pt. Dr Hitesh Modha

As Mark Zuckerberg and his Facebook phenomenon faces it first “big” challenge from Google + in the social networking world, I look at the student, come entrepreneur whose creation has affected the lives of millions of internet users right around the globe.

Mark hails from Dobbs Ferry, New York and was born on 14th May 1984 3-30 PM (proposed). If anyone reading this article does know Mark’s exact time of birth I would love to receive it. Now I present a brief study of Mark Zuckerberg’s horoscope according to Vedic jyotish (Astrology).

Ascendant: Kanya (Virgo-Sign), Mars -Mangal, Saturn-Shani, Moon-chandra: Tula( Libra) at 2nd house; Ketu:   Vrushchik(Scorpio), at 3rd house;  Jupiter-Guru : Dhan(Sagittarius) at 4th house; Mercury-Budh, Venus-Shukra:  Mesh (Arise) at 8th house; Sun-Surya, Rahu: Vrushabh(Taurus)at 9th house

He has ascendant Virgo, according to Vedic Jyotish (astrology) Virgo person is very sharp, keen, Intellect person. Very keen observer, He has foresight or clear vision of far future. Virgo is most social and humanitarian sign.    And Mark’s birth (natal) planets as like Venus and Mars and Saturn and Jupiter are functioned by at loop movements, and create a big social idea was fulfill his destiny. It is only four planets are most prominent role in Mark’s horoscope.

”.
Libra is Moon sign, it is very open huge & highly communicative sign. Also moon is situated at second house of Horoscope with Saturn and mars. Also there is one most powerful Yog “Laxmi-Yog” (it means giant money or wealth) also place at money’s home 2nd house. When mars and  moon are together in same sign its called Laxmiyog. And Mars in Libra hugely energetic and also gives Mark the mind of a detective. Looking at Mark the man for a moment, a conjunction of the Moon and Mars makes Mark rather competitive and the opposition, Mars and moon most favorable planets for telecommunication like Internet service after than powerful positioned Venus or exalted Venus.

Saturn is also indicating fame and very huge business or Industry with uncountable money and its sources...Here Saturn are exalted with aspect of Venus’s own (home) sign Libra. So it makes very strongly position of planets and person. Saturn shows the ability to administer large organizations. And it is only one and very strong factor is there, an exalted Saturn indicates towering success with largest scale in this world. This Saturn create a biggest yogs for wealth by various way or business and industry.

3rd factor that Venus is 8th house it governs by mars and 2nd house which  mars is situated at Libra sign it govern by Venus. Both are on parivartan yog in other hands vice versa it create big attraction or mass hysteria. Also, Eighth house situated Venus in Mr. bachchan’s horoscope and Osho’s horoscope, both are very most popular in this world with towering success.

According to Bhrugu Samhita 8th house situated Venus
Give a large fame, dignity, auspiciousness, huge prosperity with large money with Crowd puller power, like great emperor.
